Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of a head spa?
A head spa supports overall scalp wellness, helping with buildup removal, circulation, relaxation, sleep, and balancing oily or dry/itchy scalps. It can also support hair growth and encourage a healthier scalp environment. Results vary from person to person, and I cannot provide medical-related guidance, and the service is not intended to treat medical concerns.
What services do you offer?
I offer two scalp-focused head spa treatments that blend scalp wellness with deep relaxation: the Deluxe Head Spa (60 min), which provides extra time for nourishment and care, and the Express Head Spa (30 min), a shorter session designed for a quicker refresh. Packages of three sessions are available for both, and gift cards are offered. The Express service is not offered for hair types 3C–4C, as it does not allow enough time to properly nourish and care for the hair.
Can multiple guests be accommodated at once?
At this time, appointments are reserved for one guest at a time to maintain a calm and relaxing environment.
Can I get a head spa if I color my hair?
Absolutely. I just ask that you wait 3–5 days after coloring so the pigment has time to settle and oxidize properly. This helps protect your color and ensures the scalp treatment performs as intended.
Do I leave with wet hair?
Yes. Hair is towel dried and finished with product. Blowouts are available as an add-on for an additional $50 and are performed by a licensed stylist who operates separately from Brainwashed LA.
Do I need a credit card to book an appointment?
Yes. A credit card is required to reserve an appointment when booking online or over the phone. The card is not charged at the time of booking and is simply held to secure the reservation until checkout at the end of the appointment.
Should I wash my hair before my appointment?
For best results, please avoid shampooing for 2–3 days prior to your appointment. This allows the scalp to be viewed in its natural state and gives a more accurate read of oil levels and buildup. Light products are perfectly fine; if you’re using thicker gels for slick backs, a quick rinse is recommended.
Can I get a head spa while pregnant?
Head spa services are welcome up until month six of pregnancy. After this point, the service is not recommended, as it requires laying flat for the full duration and may be uncomfortable.
Can I receive a head spa treatment with extensions?
Extensions are a beautiful investment and deserve to be treated with care. I do not perform services on clients wearing any extension types, as extensions can limit scalp access and restrict products and water flow during treatment. This policy protects both the scalp and the extensions themselves.
Is a head spa suitable for all hair types?
Yes. All hair types are welcome. For hair types 3A–4C, the Deluxe Head Spa is recommended, as the additional time allows for proper care and attention when working through denser curl patterns and coils.
What is your late and cancellation policy?
To honor the time and care reserved for each client, arriving more than 15 minutes late for the Deluxe Head Spa or more than 10 minutes late for the Express Head Spa may require a reschedule so the full experience can be enjoyed. Missed or no-show appointments are charged 100% of the scheduled service.

If you need to adjust or cancel your appointment, please provide at least 12 hours’ notice. Changes made with less than 12 hours’ notice incur a 30% fee. Thank you for your understanding.
